The big news in town is that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 4G has finally received the major Android 11 update with MIUI 12 in China reportedly. This Android 11 update for Redmi Note 9 comes with a build number V12.0.3.0.RJQCNXM. Along with MIUI 12 update, a June 2021 Android Security patch has also been released.
A key thing to note is that this major/stable Android 11 update for Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 4G is with MIUI 12 skin and not MIUI 12.5 skin.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 4G was officially released with an Android 10 out-of-the-box in November 2020.
Now, it has received its first major OS update with Android 11 in July 2021 in China.
So, how long did Xiaomi take for the update?

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 4G comes with a 6.53-inch Color IPS LCD screen with a water-drop notch and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It consists of a 48MP+8MP+2MP triple rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It has a 2 GHz Octa-Core processor with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset. The available RAM and the storage space are 4GB and 128GB respectively. It comes with a battery size of 6000 mAh and an Android 10 out-of-the-box.
Since Redmi Note 9 4G has received only one major OS update, it can be concluded that it is still in line for the upcoming Android 12 update. Therefore, it will probably receive one more major OS update with Android 12. And, it will be the second/last major OS update for it.

The major Android 11 update for Redmi Note 9 4G is currently rolling out in China. Therefore, it is expected to release to its other global variants soon.
